The Old Ball & Chain.

Author: GS4-MESTYS
Date: 9/17/2008 8:52:22 PM
Due to certain issues with item names containing ampersands, the weapon conversion chambers that inhabit most of the weapon shops across Elanthia have been updated to handle weapons with the noun "ball & chain." Placing such weapons within the chambers will convert them to the more parser-friendly "ball and chain."

The random weapon generator and a few permanent shops have also been altered to no longer produce ball & chain items.

Alchemy, Phase II, Scene 1

Author: GS4-STRATHSPEY
Date: 9/17/2008 2:01:24 PM
75 new recipes have been added to the alchemy system. This represents a fraction of new recipes to come over the next few weeks. Training NPCs will start teaching these new recipes immediately.

In addition, most alchemy products created from this point forward will now be purchased by the alchemist shop in local towns. Items which are part of the normal treasure system (e.g. oak wands, white crystals...) will be purchased by the pawn shop.

Please post in the appropriate topic if there are any huge issues.

Enjoy!

A Twist of Roses: Raffles

Author: GS4-XYNWEN
Date: 9/7/2008 12:11:49 AM

Yfane, Auvyra, and Caelesta have been traveling for months and missed their summer raffle. As we move into autumn, they have decided to combine summer and autumn's raffles into one extravaganza. As such, their minions have placed some raffles in the antechamber of their store, A Twist of Roses, in Ta'Illistim.

Items are being raffled individually and include two forehead gems and two Yfane gowns. Caelesta is still overly fatigued from their journey, but raffle off a full feature alter or two in future days.

The raffles are set to run for just under three days, so you have ample time to get a ticket.

OOC REMINDER: You must be logged into the game to win. I will try to be around to distribute prizes at the time of raffling, but I cannot guarantee it. Since I can't guarantee I'll be there to hand it to you, I won't make you be awake and ready to take delivery! In other words, it's perfectly okay to be afk at a table or somewhere out of the way (and preferably private and safe). I'll track you down.

Kwithi Takes a Vacation

Author: GS4-THANDIWE
Date: 7/8/2008 2:33:10 PM

Kwithi Takes a Vacation

Healer Kwithi has hung up her apron for a short time to take a much needed vacation. She noted, upon packing, that the Monsoon season this year seemed to be longer than she remembered and that it was affecting her joints. She requests that everyone visiting Mist Harbor take the utmost of care with their health as she won?t be there to heal you while she is gone.

OOC Note: It appears that Kwithi has a bit of a bug in her. She decided, unbeknownst to us, that if you died near her she was going to send you out of Mist Harbor and into the streets of Ta?Vaalor. Until we can get this bugginess looked at, she?s going to be on hiatus. Please be careful when visiting Mist Harbor during this time.

Thank you!

Wehnimer's Landing Alchemist Adjustments

Author: GS4-TALISKER
Date: 7/4/2008 1:07:10 PM

The Archmage Krylonna has made two minor adjustments to the wares in her shop. She has added "a glass jar" to her inventory, and has arranged for the runestones (in her backroom catalog) to be customizable with a selection of colors.

Sorcerous Tidings

Author: GS4-TALISKER
Date: 7/4/2008 12:17:43 PM

After certain items were brought to my attention, a few tweaks have been made to the Shop in the Sorcerer's Guild of Wehnimer's Landing:

1) Demons should now be able to follow you into a Training Room for ease in illusion training.

2) The "short-staff" (cudgel base) has been removed from the inventory and replaced with a more suitable runestaff base.

3) The two cloaks offered for sale can be customized with your choice of colors.

4) There is now a "backroom" catalog available.

Town healers change fee collection services

Author: GS4-BERNT
Date: 6/4/2008 8:06:22 PM

All NPC healers in towns have been modified slightly: when you receive healing services, the cost is now added directly to your local fine/debt. Consequently, the restriction on dragging someone out of the healer's room has been removed, as well as teleport restrictions and some other tedious checks.

Cheers,
GM Bernt

Welcome to the Warren - River's Rest Town Expansion!

Author: GS4-SCRIBES
Date: 5/25/2008 12:02:07 AM

The darker side of the County of Torre's biggest little backwater has officially been released! Adventurers can now explore the world of River's Rest smugglers and traipse through the tunnels dug by river rats over the years beneath the very streets and buildings of the town. The Warren is not just the home of the smuggler community, but also the location of three new locations to spend silvers!

* Be sure to visit Sem's Salvaged, for the finest "salvaged" merchandise.
* Visit the Sea Rat for the finest, if not healthiest, sea and river food in town.
* Make no promises to the family that you'll have the ability to stagger home after visiting Wesl's stall, where the limited selection is more than enough to clean the whistle.

No visit to the Warren is complete without taking in the view of the Tempest River from the dock on the River Walk, but be sure not to fall in!

The Warren represents the newest addition to the town of River's Rest with an expansion of 39 brand spanking new rooms, three shops, and other fun. It was made possible by the following wonderful GameMasters:

QC ? GM Azia
Coding ? GM Sleken

In addition, both GM Ikaan and GM Vesmera participated in the release event in Prime.

So c'mon down and check out the newest part of River's Rest!

[Monsoon Jungle, Hillside Path]

Above the planks of a swollen and broken fence, a swarm of black flies hover in the air. A small cleared space develops into a muddy path leading upward, its track washed with pebbled gravel and littered with large green leaves. The fence itself stretches on towards the south. You also see a dirty canvas wall tent.

Primeval Provisions is making a brief stop just inside the Monsoon Jungle on Four Winds Isle. Merchandise has not changed from last summer, but will be available for a limited time in this location.

March Rent for Wehnimer's Player Shops

Author: GS4-AUCHAND
Date: 2/22/2008 11:11:38 AM

At the beginning of February, a bug caused some players with Wehnimer's player shops were double-charged for their stores. This resulted in the inadvertent repossession of some player shops and lower-than-usual balances in others. Per previous announcements, players affected by this bug were asked to ASSIST so that their shops could be replaced or the extra charges be refunded.

The February issue with Wehnimer's player shops has been addressed and fixed, but the March rent deadline is swiftly approaching. Some players may still be unaware of double-charged shop balances. Please check to ensure that your balance is sufficient to pay for your March rent.

You are still encouraged to ASSIST if you were previously double-charged for your Wehnimer's player shop at the February deadline.

Ariebaela returns home!

Author: GS4-JACIEN
Date: 2/9/2008 5:49:25 PM

After years of traveling the Lady Ariebaela, Ranger extraordinaire, has finally returned home to Cysaegir.

When asked what prompted her return, Ariebaela reportedly replied, "I've spent years traveling. I've seen many wondrous things and I know there is so much more to see. But I simply missed my family and decided it was high time that I came back home.

It was fun, and maybe one day I'll decide to adventure again, but right now, I think I'd like to settle down for a few years and start a little business of my own. I purchased the cutest little whitewashed cottage right here in town. I look forward to meeting everyone!"

Your local fletcher shop is now opened.

Enjoy!

Important Notice for Wehnimer's Shop Owners

Author: GS4-AUCHAND
Date: 2/8/2008 1:38:13 PM

As GM Sleken posted previously, Wehnimer's shop owners may have noticed unusual shop behavior at the beginning of February. Specifically, it appears that a bug in the Wehnimer's shop systems caused player shop owners to be charged their monthly rent more than once. The bug was caught and fixed, but not before accomplishing a bit of mischief. This has resulted in two issues:

1) Some players will have had one extra month's worth of rent deducted from their balance.

2) Players without a sufficient balance to cover the extra rent have had their shop repossessed.

If you are a Wehnimer's shop owner and have been affected, please request an ASSIST in-game to speak with a GameHost. We will refund the extra silvers charged and, in the event that your shop was lost due to this issue, it will be restored.

Players who have lost shops due to this issue should recover their inventory crate in the player shop permit authority office in Wehnimer's. All players with Wehnimer's shops should check their shop balances promptly.

You have our apologies for the issue, and our thanks for your patience.

Player Shop Problems February 01, 2008.

Author: GS4-SLEKEN
Date: 2/1/2008 8:09:36 PM

During the monthly rent collection for player shops a script went out of control and mistakenly charged some shops their monthly rent repeatedly. As a result, some shops were repossessed since they didn't have a balance capable of covering several months worth of rent.

This problem was confined to player shops in the Landing in the GSIV prime instance. Not all shops in the Landing were affected.

For those of you that believe you were over charged rent, but did not lose your shop, please assist and ask to speak to a GM about replacement of silvers.

For those that lost a shop, please do the same and tell the GM that you lost your shop. Your shop will be replaced. I will have to manually replace your shop, so I ask for your patience. Shop replacements will be my priority in the coming days.

Also, if you lost your shop, go to the shop permit office and claim the box with your items in it as soon as possible.

Alchemy Shop Disturbance

Author: GS4-ESTILD
Date: 1/23/2008 9:54:10 AM

Alchemy shop keepers have noticed a recent trend of certain customers who idly stand around their shop. It was noted that this was causing a disturbance to their other customers. In a swift, conjoined effort from all alchemy shop owners across Elanthia, a new policy was setup to remove such individuals from the store and to bar their reentry for a period of time.

What's there, you ask? Why, there's all sorts of fabulous stuff. But I'm not going to spoil it for you. No, you'll just have to head to Icemule and find out for yourself.
