MHO and CHE Fair This Weekend!

Author: GS4-KORELYS
Date: 11/13/2008 3:09:10 PM

Are you looking for a place to belong? Are you curious about one of the many CHEs and MHOs that operate in Elanthia?

On Friday evening at 9pm ET, a path will open up in all three Silverwood Manor courtyards (Wehnimer's Landing, Ta'Vaalor, and Icemule Trace). The path will lead to a clearing on the grounds of Silverwood Manor, where various MHOs and CHEs have put up tents offering refreshments and information about their organizations.

A few individual events will be held over the course of the weekend -- check the calendar for details. This is a chance to meet individuals from various organizations, and decide if one of them may be right for you!

Feel free to email GS4-Korelys@play.net with questions.

Mayhem Masks

Author: GS4-THANDIWE
Date: 10/28/2008 8:45:15 PM

Greetings,

I meant to post this Sunday night, however, I've been a little busy.

The Mayhem Masks of Dame Cirri Strut can be found in the Lorminstra temple.

Now its time for some fun facts!

1) Mayhem masks shift between six different faces.

2) Males see one set of four, while Females see another set. (This is not broken!)

3) To ensure that a male does not wear a sprite, (or a female wears a troll) the masks shift when you wear them (Also not broken!)

4) The masks have two tiers. (Unlockable - or as Tiffidy said Unclickable!)

5) Two faces (the suede and wooden one) can be customized to YOUR specifications.

6) Any merchant can customize OR unlock the masks.

7) Each face of the mask has a loresong that is unique to it. The two customized masks do not. (Also not broken)

The Bank of Elanith

Author: GS4-NAOS
Date: 10/23/2008 6:04:20 PM

>> Withdraw account in form of silvers from whatever
>> bank you're using.
>> Walk to portal to EG, go through portal.
>> Walk to Velathae bank, deposit silvers.
>> OMG SO HARD!

I'll make it easier than that...

With the aid of the Merchant Consortium of Greater Elanith, the bank in Velathae will now draw funds from the account tied to the realm from which you enter the event.

I'll apologize to our Platinum players for not having this feature live this year, as I literally just thought of it tonight. (Before all of this discussion, I might add.)

ShadowDeath & Digging

Author: GS4-AUCHAND
Date: 10/17/2008 9:32:45 PM

Oh, yeah. Did I mention that I'm putting ShadowDeath weapons into the digging game this year?

I didn't? Okay. There will be ShadowDeath weapons in the digging game in Prime. There are already some in Platinum. With shade-skinks, this fulfills my yearly shadow quotient.

Ebon Gate Will Give You Friends.

Author: GS4-AUCHAND
Date: 10/15/2008 9:18:29 PM

That's right, folks. Ebon Gate will give you friends, if you can find the sneaky merchant Ilixil. Consider this your EG teaser from me.

When I say 'friends,' I'm talking about lizards. Made out of shadow. That don't eat no stinkin' crickets. Don't believe me? Take a look:

Twitching and shuddering at odd intervals, the tiny creature appears to be little more than a shadow lent feeble substance. Its indigo-cored form wavers like a candle's flame, but the shade-shade-newt maintains a rough lizard shape augmented by odd, elongated limbs. Each of the six tendril-like legs spreads into a trio of tiny black talons. Twin pinpoints of cerulean luminescence shine from where the creature's eyes ought to be.

You gently probe the body of the indigo shade-newt. As your fingers press against its oily-slick skin, tiny aurorae ripple outward from the point of contact. They limn the nearby flesh in mother-of-pearl hues that are slow to fade.

Oh, yeah. Did I mention you can also force them to dwell in your skin? In. Your. Skin.

Mystery Mayhem Troupe Rides Southwest

Author: GS4-THANDIWE
Date: 10/14/2008 7:39:42 AM

Passing through the snow-enshrouded hills of Ice Mule, the ebon wagon of the Magical Mayhem Troupe has once again been seen beneath the silvery halo of moonlight as it makes its way further south. With the return of the wagon to Western Elanith come magical announcements of where the Troupe will perform its first exemplary show begin to surface!

It has been more than two centuries since the legendary family left the village of Velathae, their departure happening days before the ill-fated night that shrouds that small town in mystery, and now they return to their humble beginnings to pay homage to their meager first stage. Stopping for three nights only, the Troupe will arrive the first night of the festival to bring their special brand of talents, mystery, wonder, and fun to those that travel to the village.

In a highly anticipated return performance, the Troupe expects to perform several marionette-based plays that are certain to entertain and enthrall!

"Dame Cirri Strut's magical Mayhem Troupe!
An extraordinary performance group!
Splendidly famous, it is world renowned.
With magic and wonders that can confound!"

Ebon Gate -- Who is excited?!?!

Author: GS4-VESMERA
Date: 10/9/2008 11:51:49 PM

Are you excited yet? I know I'm excited!!! I can't wait to see everyone running around like crazy, and having a great time.

We -really- appreciate your patience with the delay on the festival verb. Sometimes things happen, and we work to correct them as quickly as possible. Don't let that lack of information get you down! No losing steam before we even begin!

The other GMs and I have a lot of great surprises in store for all of you this year, but I suppose I can let a few things slip. And I do recall promising to let you know what I might be providing that would possibly effect certain professions, races, etc... So, in the spirit of keeping communication open between us, I'll list some of the special services that will be available this year. Please note: This is not everything, and there will be limited slots with random selection methods (raffle, spinners).

- Bard Sonics.
- Rotating flares for weapons 8x and below.
- Temporary banshee flares for shields 7x and below.
- Temporary crit padding (with stipulations)
- Temporary crit weighting (with stipulations)
- Cobbling things. (It's a surprise)
- Shield, armor, and armor accessory spikes.
- Prayerbead and religious jewelry unlocking.
- Metallic gown unlocking. (Yes, new scripts!)
- Lockmastery clasps and keyblanks.

Is this enough? ;)

But wait, there's more!

-- 2nd Annual Masquerade Ball. Your chance to dress up, dance, and win a great prize.

-- Costume contest! New this year! For those of you who would rather not wear a coat, or a ballgown. Show off your costume, and possibly win a prize for your efforts!

-- Storytelling competition. Bring us your spooky stories, songs, and poetry! Prizes for first, second, and third place!

Ask around. The prizes are well worth the effort!

Don't forget our yearly quest, and the many smaller contests, games, and role playing opportunities throughout the event!! And shopping. Who doesn't love shopping? ;)

I hope this glimpse into what's in store has caught your attention! Buy your ticket (or tickets) and come join the fun. Can't wait to see you there!

Mayhem Troupe Returns

Author: GS4-THANDIWE
Date: 9/19/2008 7:11:52 PM
Reports have traveled from abroad about the ebon wagon that is glimpsed amongst the sunset hues of autumn leaves. Riding far and wide, the wagon is that of the legendary family group known as the Magical Mayhem Troupe.

Last seen passing into the Shireland and approaching the Northern Steppes, the legendary troupe has not returned home to the Human Empire in nearly two hundred years. The performance company is formed up of family members who pass on their talents from generation to generation and have gained world notoriety.

Known primarily for their marionette shows, the troupe also holds vast talents in entertainment magics, juggling, jester acts, lively mask creation, and fantastical operettas. Though the troupe has made no stops yet on its return trip, it is highly anticipated that the troupe will once again perform.

Auto Flarer, also a correction.

Author: GS4-VESMERA
Date: 8/25/2008 12:47:13 PM

For those who don't know, the auto flare adding NPC will be stationed in the tent in the Landing's Garden Niche until 10am tomorrow. He can add flares to weapons 4x and below, with some restrictions. Please see the posts in the Events, Suggestions topic for further info.

For people who are already aware of this, there is one correction to my previously stated information. Apparently by design, flares are unlimited per person, instead of one per day. So, flare away, while you still can!

WoE Custom Swear Winners

Author: GS4-HADLIR
Date: 4/23/2008 11:45:14 AM

For those of you lucky few who won custom swears during the WoE event at the Teras Asylum, please be sure to drop me an email at GS4-Hadlir@play.net as soon as possible. Thus far I have ideas from 8 of the 15 total winners on my list, and there are winners I have yet to hear from in both instances of the game. While waiting to email to brainstorm is still fine, I will be attempting to get through those I have this weekend, and not having your idea submitted by then may result in a longer wait.

Congrats again, and I look forward to reading your ideas!

Re: First Crash!

Author: GS4-LIIA
Date: 4/18/2008 9:26:40 PM

Thanks for everyone's exceptional patience tonight. We scrambled behind the scenes and made some decisions to help the rest of the week go smoother:

First, on site has increased the buffer. My heroes!
Secondly, we will be putting a portal at most if not all meeting areas that will dispell you when you move through to commence the tour. We will bypass dangerous hunting areas so as not to have our groups die as a direct result. Scholar merchants will explain more as needed.
Thirdly, silence scripts will be in use.

What can you do to help?

Keep whispers to the merchant to a minimum, particularly if it's not your turn. It is very hard to move through things if he/she has 20 +people whispering (that's not an exaggeration) at any given time.

Wait for the merchant to announce what his/her requirements or limits are before asking questions.

Read signs!

Again, thanks to everyone tonight for being gracious, patient, and a pleasure to work with. Though things progressed in an unexpected manner, I had an excellent time working and playing with you. Enjoy the festival!

Locking/Closing Containers at WoE

Author: GS4-LIIA
Date: 4/12/2008 5:21:07 PM

Adding locks to containers was previously considered a "limited service." This has been changed, and the Pavilion of the Bells event will offer either this, or closing "stuck" containers, to those in attendance (in random order) for the time the merchant is in attendance. This will, therefore, not affect the potential for winning a major/limited service.

[WoE] Private Property Raffles Change

Author: GS4-LOTHWYN
Date: 4/7/2008 6:02:40 PM

There's been a change in properties being raffled in the upcoming Wonders of Elanthia event.

After some extensive consideration, and discussion with both Kia and SGM Sirina, I've decided to withdraw the Prestidigitorium from the event raffles. Instead, in the following weeks, I'll make arrangements to open the Prestidigitorium permanently for public access, thereby creating a sort of unique museum. At that point, the Property will be taken off the list of being available to occupants.

Other unoccupied former wizard workshops, such as Kodos' cottage, will likely follow. And, should the others become vacant in the future, they, too, will be opened.

The Dark Tower residence is still up for raffle. In the place of the Prestidigitorium, we're creating a brand new Private Property, one in which the winner will be able to select--barring any objections from appropriate parties--its final destination.

A preview of the interiors, plus a starting monthly rent / raffle price of the new property is coming soon.

SLIGHT CHANGE IN ONE WoE EVENT

Author: GS4-LIIA
Date: 3/23/2008 9:31:11 PM

Due to an unforeseen RL scheduling conflict, there will be a slight change in the Veythorne Manor event on the Wednesday night of festival week(s).

The Animal Companion alterations in the Prime instance will be handled by raffle, and completed by the merchant at a different time to be arranged between the winners and the merchant. Please note that the raffle table will be at Veythorne Manor, not in the shop with the other raffles.

The tour will commence as scheduled, and bow sighting will still go on as usual, as will AC accessory and other "rangerly" alterations.

Platinum AC alterations will not be occurring during the festival, but will continue to be handled through the normal means. The remainder of the Platinum event will be the same as in Prime.

Thank you for your understanding!
