After being closed for many years, the Fane of the God-King has opened in Solhaven. All are bid welcome to the Temple, which is Solhaven's largest place of worship.
It should be noted that there are two unusual aspects to the Koar Temple:
1) The entry arch strips those who approach of all their spells.
2) Upon entrance to the prayer plaza, your eyes will be drawn to the dais. Everyone within the plaza can see actions occurring on the dais. If you wish to hold a religious ceremony, worshipers can see what you are doing from anywhere within the plaza or the 'highwalk.'
Enjoy!

The most recent announcements are on the entry page and a more comprehensive archive can be accessed through the links on the right sidebar. You may also narrow the focus through the various labels on the lower righthand side of this page. Click on the title of each post for the original post in the official GSIV message boards. Imaera's Glade Revised, et al!
Author: GS4-AUCHAND
Date: 7/14/2008 2:57:47 PM
Due to several generous donations from the savvy merchants of the Mercantylers' Guild, the Green Sisters of Imaera have seen fit to extend access to a previously private altar to Imaera in her aspect as the Harvest Goddess.
Harvest's Vigil is located immediately south of the Garden of Making.
Rumors around the city suggest that Paidreg Venquinor has finished moving into his new manor in Solhaven. With the destruction of his familial home and his parents' whereabouts still unknown, the manor has been christened "Venquinor House" and will stand as the official seat of his bloodline.
===
In clearer terms, there's a third altar to Imaera in her glade. Venquinor House will remain locked when its owner is not in residence, but expect some public gatherings there soon.

Solhaven Presents... New Temples!
Author: GS4-AUCHAND
Date: 7/12/2008 2:16:20 PM
Solhaven's collective religious orders are pleased to welcome two brand new temples and a shrine into their ranks.
Eonak's Temple, having largely fallen into disrepair, was abandoned by the Order of Steel. Due to a deal brokered by Lord Paidreg Venquinor, the land was given to the Order of Voln, where they established a new outpost known as Fasthr's Lance.
Eonak's new religious site, the Temple of Industry, has been built with the aid of several local organizations. In gratitude, the Steel Priests granted leave for a memorial to those lost during the Griffin Sword War.
Significant overhauls have likewise been made to the enclave of the Green Sisters of Imaera, which is now linked to Eonak's by a very special garden.
---
Huge thanks to GameMaster Galene, who volunteered for and undertook the building of Imaera's Glade when I began these overhauls.
Enjoy!

Prayer of Communion (330) Updated!
Author: GS4-OSCURO
Date: 3/31/2008 4:56:19 PM
The Cleric spell Prayer of Communion (330) has received some updates:
- The COMMUNE verb has been introduced to allow a Cleric to choose to which deity they will be communing. Usage is COMMUNE {deity name|deity number}. COMMUNE LIST will provide a list of all gods to which one can commune. PREP/CAST and INCANT may still be used, but they will default to targeting the god to which the Cleric is CONVERTed.
- Previously, targeting an item with Prayer of Communion resulted in a bonus to success. This was, in spirit, meant to be used as a bonus for casting at holy symbols, however, it was applied to all items. Thus, this bonus has been removed and replaced with more appropriate modifiers.
- A Cleric communing to the god they are CONVERTed to will receive a bonus to success. Communing to a god in the same pantheon as the Cleric's god yields a smaller bonus and communing to a god in a different pantheon than the Cleric's patron will result in a penalty to success.
- A Cleric communing to a god in a shrine dedicated to that god receives a bonus to success.
- Training in Spiritual Lore, Religion now adds 2% per seed 6 summation of lore ranks to the success rate for Prayer of Communion.
- As before, overuse of the Prayer of Communion spell (i.e. frequent use within a short time period) can result in detrimental effects to the caster. These effects have been increased in magnitude a bit, as many previous effects were simply curses which could be removed with Remove Curse (315). A slight increase to failure rate has been introduced in the case of overuse. Overuse of the spell will be plainly indicated via messaging.

For the Godless Among Us
Author: GS4-OSCURO
Date: 3/15/2008 3:52:03 PM
The CONVERT verb has been updated with a FORSAKE option. Choosing CONVERT FORSAKE will permanently clear your deity selection. Once you have forsaken the gods, you cannot select another god with CONVERT SET. Your only hope at regaining the favor of the gods is to find a Cleric able to cast Intercession (325, Tier 5).

Major Sanctuary (220) Updated!
Author: GS4-OSCURO
Date: 2/23/2008 4:17:51 PM
Major Sanctuary (220) has been updated to include 39 new sanctuary options corresponding to natural lesser spirits (the same as the subtypes for spirit servants). Additionally, a caster can select which natural sanctuary they will arrive in by using a runestone inscribed with the appropriate common rune (use the RUNE command for more information on how to create runestones). If the caster is not converted to a deity, then a cast of Major Sanctuary will result in him arriving in a sactuary created by lesser spirits local to the realm.
The Luukos sanctuary has been renamed from "Cavern Sanctuary" to "Underground Sanctuary" to not be confused with the "Cavern Sanctuary" associated with cavern spirits.
A huge "thank you" to GM Thandiwe for writing the descriptions for these rooms.

Shrine of Onar Recently Discovered
Author: GS4-ANDRASTE
Date: 2/17/2008 9:35:08 PM
Events as of late have led to the discovery of a hidden Shrine of Onar in South'Haven. Brothers from an ancient friary in Vornavis have been the caretakers of the Shrine since it's establishment.
For more information, you might wish to seek out Abbot Pawel, Brothers Limant and Nyarahie, or any of those who were treated to the hallowed sanctuary residing behind a rather odd facade.

CONVERT update
Author: GS4-OSCURO
Date: 1/22/2007 4:44:44 PM
The CONVERT verb has undergone a few changes. If you are already converted to a deity, typing CONVERT will now display the Elanthian date you converted to that deity. Additionally, it will note the number of times you have used Intercession to convert to a new deity beyond "freebie" converts.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
With the release of Intercession, it is now possible for clerics to convert players to deities. Thus, starting a month from today, that is, on 2/22/07, the ability to CONVERT SET to a deity will be allowed once if you do not yet have a deity and will be removed if you already have one. Please make a deity selection using CONVERT before this time, or seek out a cleric who can cast Intercession.
